Greetings Village,
I headed into this summer with the intention to really enjoy time outdoors with the kids and our extended family. Looking ahead at my calendar I found myself comparing weather forecasts, the kid’s camp schedules, my work schedule, and weekend plans all to make the most of our Minnesota summer. And looking back we were successful!
As August wraps up it made me think I should set an intention for the Fall. At first I was at a complete loss. Knowing that school and sports activities will begin to ramp up, so what can I set intentions for that I can easily accomplish knowing the demands of the family schedule?
As I was teaching on Zoom in my office last week I was surrounded by a bag of clothes for donation, toys that the kids no longer use, and other items piling up that don’t have a home in our home.
Do you have any items like that?
So then it came to me. I am going to slowly go through the house, room by room, not just for clothes, but for items that we have kept but no longer serve a purpose or a use for our family. I can do this on my own time, looking ahead like I did for the summer, comparing rainy-cold days, to the kids schedule, my work schedule, and our weekend plans.
And this isn’t a goal to get so much done, as it is an intention about how I will utilize my time.
So, what intentions for your time might you have for this Fall?
Time with friends, family
Writing
Reading
Movement
Travel
Cooking
A new hobby, an old hobby
Cleaning/Organizing
…
It might not come to you right away, but give it time, and I am sure an intention will reveal itself.
Happy September!
Warmly,
Lesley
