Greetings Village!
Cha Cha Cha Changes . . .
Change can be so scary.
Asking for change can be even scarier. Right?
I jumped on the AI bandwagon this month and asked ChatGPT, “Why is change so difficult?”
Here’s a snippet of the responses . . .
Habit and familiarity: Humans are creatures of habit, and we tend to find comfort in familiar routines and patterns. Change disrupts these established habits and requires us to adapt to new ways of doing things.
Comfort zones: People tend to stay within their comfort zones because they feel safe and secure there. Stepping outside of this zone means venturing into unfamiliar territory, which can be uncomfortable and anxiety-provoking. The prospect of leaving the familiar can hinder our willingness to embrace change.
Emotional attachment: We can develop emotional attachments to people, places, routines, or situations. Letting go of these attachments can be emotionally difficult, even if we intellectually understand the need for change. Emotional ties can create resistance and make it harder to move forward.
So as we venture into Fall next month I am implementing some changes to the Village Health Weekly Schedule, which will in turn affect some of your schedules.
Like many of you, I am a creature of habit and dislike change, especially when it comes to schedules. But one thing I have learned in owning my own business, is that one has to be open to change because we don’t know what lies ahead if we don’t try.
That last part of the ChatGPT response to “Why is change so difficult?” was this:
“It's important to note that while change can be difficult, it is also a natural and necessary part of personal growth, adaptation, and progress. Understanding the factors that make change difficult can help us navigate and overcome the challenges more effectively.”

Maybe even try something new!
With much love and gratitude,
